Installing

- Follow the installer instructions which are also
outlined in the Getting Started section. The compiler can be run on
either the PC or the ARMexpress. New debug features of BASICtools do
rely on the compiler being run on the PC.
- Connection to a PC is done with a serial port either a legacy version or
using a USB port (and the ARMexpress eval card).
- The Windows XP installer BASICtools and TclTerm interface
program works for WinXP x64, but the drivers specific for x64 and the FTDI
interface must be used.

- BEFORE you run the Coridium installer, you must
install the proper Windows 98 VCP drivers for the FT232R. These drivers can be found on the setup
disk in the Program Files/Coridium/Win98_Drivers directory. Detailed install directions can be found
on the FTDI website at www.ftdichip.com. Follow their
directions for installation found at http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm
- Then you can run the setup.exe either on the CD or from the www.coridiumcorp.com/Support
page.

BASICtools.exe which is a compiled Tcl file will not
run on Win98, but the source file will run if a TclTk package is installed,
see details in Win98 Setup
.
- The MakeItC utilities for C development will NOT run
on Win98.
- Currently an installer is not supported, but only the
documentation and a terminal emulator are required.
- A command line interface has been developed for
Windows as an example of how to do the same in Linux. The necessary
files and sources can be found in the files section of the Yahoo ARMexpress Group
.
- A port for the ARMexpress has been done by www.devscott.org
- To communicate with the ARMexpress, a connection to a
serial port is required
- The documentation is available in HTML format so
anything with a browser should be capable of using it.
